THE PEN OF CAPRIEUX-JAMIN
Graphology

The piece explores writing as an extension of the body and thought. Through drawing and reflection upon graphology, it proposes the stroke as a living imprint of temperament, where movement, emotion and identity become visibly manifested. Handwriting concentrates the personal mark of its author and the emotions experienced at the momento of tracing it.
As Heraclitus affirmed, everything that spills around us becomes especially perceptible within the signature, the imprint of personality. Concern, nervousness and agitation manifest themselves through the movements of writing before the individual becomes consciously aware of them. Energy always leaves a trace and the stroke is its most honest confession.
