ENERGY IN THE BLOOD
Blacksmiths, alchemists and magicians

Since ancient times, blacksmiths and magicians understood that blood was not merely matter, but living energy capable of being captured within metal. They tempered steel using bodies, skins and organic heat, convinced that vitality could be transferred and preserved.
This sculpture inherits that intuition. Platinum-plated bronze preserves what those blacksmiths sought to fix: something that circulates between beings, that does not die with the flesh, and that metal can contain. This piece conceives blood as a system of energetic and symbolic circulation.
HISTORICAL
Magic and metal: our metallurgical techniques derive from magic.
In syria, flexible steel was obtained by passing the heated blade of the sword through the body of a living slave.
Magicians attempted to capture the energy of blood within the sword.
It was also achieved by placing the red-hot sword upon animal skins. This produces organic nitrogen.
